Mercato: Fofana lands in Chelsea for €82.5m
On Wednesday, Chelsea announced the signing of French defender Wesley Fofana, who was playing in Leicester.
Fofana, 21, signed a seven-year contract with the London club. The amount of the deal has not been revealed, but it would exceed the sum of 80 million euros, excluding bonuses, according to the British press, SportNews said.
At only 21 years old, Fofana continues to progress expressively. Recruited by Leicester in 2020 after playing only twenty matches in Ligue 1 with the Greens, the Marseille native quickly established himself among the Premier League references to his position.
The broken leg he suffered just a year ago did not affect his level or rating, as he has now become one of the most expensive advocates in history.
