Sudanese Analysts Reveal Muslim Brotherhood’s Plan to Stoke Chaos in the Country

The terrorist organization, the Muslim Brotherhood, seeks to prolong the war to quash the revolution and use the state of chaos to achieve their political goals and interests in the country.

Reports reveal that the Muslim Brotherhood‘s experience, spanning over 30 years, has witnessed wars across all corners of Sudan, resulting in massive casualties, hundreds of thousands of deaths, and the displacement of millions, putting the country at risk of division.

Muslim Brotherhood‘s Plan

Dr. Osman El Mirghani, a Sudanese analyst and writer, states that the Brotherhood‘s efforts to prevent the cessation of war stem from their fear of a peaceful resolution, which would expose them politically and make them susceptible to trials due to their involvement in a series of crimes, including dispersing sit-ins, the October 25 coup, and the April 15 war itself.

He adds that the goal of all these attempts, which hinder negotiations for a peaceful solution, is their desire to return to power and find an exit for their leaders wanted by international and local courts. On this basis, the Muslim Brotherhood aims for the war to secure Sudan’s governance for them forever, without an “ethical political project.”

Muslim Brotherhood‘s Attempts

In the same context, Bakri Al-Jam, a leader in the Coordination of Civil Forces, explains that the group of Muslim Brotherhood, rejecting the cessation of war, believes they can continue to rule by eliminating the December revolution, creating conflicts among the parties. This means stopping the process of change and avoiding accountability. Additionally, this group has no alternative vision to power and dominance through the state apparatus for personal gain. The organization has turned into an alliance of money and power, with a narrow vision closer to race and regionalism.

He further stated, in press statements, that the Muslim Brotherhood‘s insistence on the war option aims to “buy time, incite the people against the civil forces.” Thus, their political attack focuses more on civilians calling for change than on the belligerents, the Rapid Support Forces.

He emphasized that stopping the war means for the Muslim Brotherhood the return of civil forces with the slogans of the revolution that expose them to trials for the crimes they have committed.

It is worth mentioning that the Muslim Brotherhood has succeeded multiple times in thwarting negotiation rounds, and many international forces have revealed the efforts of the “chiefs” to prolong the war to weaken opposing national forces, so that the Muslim Brotherhood can return forcefully to the political scene or negotiate to obtain a share of power.
