The Ibb Authorities Affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood Rebel against the Judiciary

The de facto authorities affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood in the city of Taiz, Yemen, have refused to release the prisoner of conscience Taha Al-Jalaal, despite judicial orders for his release.

According to the website (Al-Aminnet), a court ruling was issued by the military court recently for his release after more than three years of kidnapping and detention due to his political views. The Taiz-Hodeidah Military Court, which issued the ruling, urged the head of the military intelligence division affiliated with the Taiz-based Brotherhood to quickly implement the decision to release Al-Jalaal.

This decision was signed and sealed by the president of the court, Judge Adnan Al-Rabasi, along with the prosecutor general, Judge Naji Al-Maflahi, on the same note directed to the intelligence division, ordering the release of Taha Al-Jalaal in compliance with the ruling.

The military prosecutor of Taiz-Hodeidah issued an additional directive requesting his deputy to contact intelligence officials and inquire about the reasons for not implementing the judicial decision issued on November 10, 2024.

According to observers, what could be described as a refusal of judicial rulings is in fact a rebellion, and this requires the judiciary to protect its judgments by lifting the judicial immunity of any rebellious entity, whether military or security-related.

What is happening with the detainees under the authorities of Taiz is nothing more than corruption, arrogance of power, lack of responsibility, and the absence of the leadership council and its government in the face of the violations by the de facto authorities in Taiz, which require a re-evaluation.

Taha Ali Hassan Al-Jalaal was imprisoned because of his political views and opinions, and had posed no threat to anyone. According to observers, he does not deserve what has happened to him.

A petition campaign, initiated by a group of cultural, literary, and national leaders, is circulating on social media calling for the immediate release of the prisoner of conscience Taha Al-Jalaal, who has been held by the authorities of Taiz for three years.
