The UAE and human rights… International praise for what the state provides to support the world

The UAE is proving day after day to be a successful example in the world and the region in the field of human rights through its record of human rights achievements in various fields, domestically and internationally, through its membership in international forums, human rights legislation, policies and strategies in this sector, its inspiring initiatives in the field of tolerance and coexistence, its campaigns in health and education, the protection of children and their stakeholders, as well as the empowerment of women.

International Guidelines

The latest testimonies were issued by experts during their discussion at an international symposium in Geneva held remotely last Wednesday to coincide with the launch of the UAE’s Shadow Report on Human Rights.

Fifty-three international human rights organizations praised the UAE’s sponsorship of national strategies to promote and promote human rights at the national, regional and international levels, especially with regard to women’s rights, children’s rights and vulnerable groups.

The coalition of international human rights organizations concerned with monitoring and monitoring the human rights situation in the world reviewed the progress of the United Arab Emirates and its sponsorship of human rights, as well as the major developments in the building of national legislation and the establishment of many national institutions concerned with strengthening the national human rights system, particularly those related to legislation, institutions and initiatives that have contributed to the consolidation of the national experience based on the humanitarian approach and deepening the State’s commitment to human rights.

At the “Renewing Donor Pledges for the Global Partnership for Education” Summit held in July 2021, the UAE announced its commitment to provide a contribution of $100 million to the “Global Partnership for Education” with the aim of supporting the strategic plan for education programs in developing countries during the period 2021-2025.

A successful example

Abdallah Al-Mutawa, an Emirati writer and political analyst, said: “The UAE is setting a successful example in the world and the region, in the field of human rights, respect at home, and defense abroad, through its membership in international forums, according to the repeated testimonies of experts and concerned human rights organizations.”

The UAE has affirmed its unwavering belief in the important and pivotal role played by the Council in promoting and protecting human rights, and has sought from its seat to promote cooperation efforts, constructive dialog and strengthening partnerships, using its international standing in the international community to relentlessly defend human rights in all countries of the world, the UAE analyst added.

He said the UAE recently adopted a package of important legislation, including personal status laws, civil transactions, penal procedures and penal codes, as well as combating discrimination and hatred, to keep pace with the needs and requirements of the current phase and bring it into line with international human rights conventions.
