Tunisian president: There are errors in the draft constitution and it will be fixed
Tunisian President Kais Saied announced in a recorded speech that there are some mistakes in the draft constitution that is being presented for the referendum and that it will be reformed.
“Some errors in form and others in the arrangement were leaked to the draft constitution, which was published and which had to be fixed”, Saied said.
The Tunisian president called for a yes vote on the constitution “so that the course of the revolution can be corrected, and even until the course of history is complete, so that we preserve our state together, to preserve rights and freedoms together and to achieve the goals of the revolution together”.
He added: “I call on everyone not to accept money from any party, like what happened in 2019, because I am innocent of any funding.. Your means, even if limited and your limitless abstinence, can contribute effectively to the success of the referendum on the draft constitution that will be issued shortly”.
He added, “Tyranny is gone without a return, and will never return, neither by the constitution nor by any other legislative provision”. He added, “There is no retreat in the text of the constitution from the basic choices or the major principles, because they are part of the heart and soul of the revolution”.
