Turkey bombs Syrian Democratic Forces areas north of Syria’s Racca

On Friday morning, Turkish forces shelled areas of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) north of Racca.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that in the northern countryside of Racca, activists affiliated with the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights observed a rocket bombardment carried out by Turkish forces this morning, which targeted areas around the Aïn Issa camp and the village of Maalak in the countryside of Aïn Issa.

The Observatory said the targets were within SDF areas north of Racca, adding that there were no reports of casualties so far.

On 5 June, the Observatory reported that Turkish forces and pro-Turkish factions had shelled with heavy weapons the Aïn Issa camp, the village of Maalak and the International M4 road north of Aïn Issa in the northern Racca countryside, setting crops on fire.

On April 30, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights activists in Aïn Issareported that Turkish forces were attempting to advance to the ”M4” road, which links Aleppo and Al-Hasakah. Turkish troops are working on removing and advancing through the Aïn Issa front to advance, and raising a new frequency of waiting on the ground to advance and get closer to the targeted road.
