UAE to evacuate more than 40,000 from Afghanistan

The United Arab Emirates said on Monday evening that it has contributed to the evacuation of more than 40,000 foreigners from Afghanistan, and is temporarily hosting about 8,500 Afghans.

In a tweet posted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the UAE added: “The UAE’s efforts to facilitate the evacuation of foreign nationals from Afghanistan have been widely welcomed by our international partners, and so far the UAE has helped evacuate more than 40,000 people from Afghanistan, in addition to temporarily hosting 8,500 Afghans.”

International praise for the UAE’s “active role” in facilitating the evacuation of Afghans continues. This comes at a time when the history of humanity, in letters of light, records the UAE’s initiatives and efforts to provide relief to the needy around the world.

The white hands of the United Arab Emirates extend to relief to all peoples in difficult circumstances, as part of its strategy of human fraternity, which prioritizes “Human First” without discrimination based on geography, race or religion.

That humanitarian strategy has become evident during the current Afghan crisis, on more than one level and on more than one level.

In this regard, the United Arab Emirates has received former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and his family in the country for humanitarian reasons, and has also assisted many countries in evacuating their nationals from Afghanistan in the current circumstances.

The United Arab Emirates has become a focal point in the evacuation effort from Afghanistan, as part of its humanitarian efforts to facilitate access for all parties in these circumstances.

The UAE began hosting Afghan families this month and temporarily providing them with care in the community as part of its humanitarian initiative.
