WhatsApp would provide its own Memoji to add a touch of fun to your video calls

A novelty has just been unearthed by WABetaInfo in a beta of the Whatsapp application. This reports the possible arrival of new avatars to be able to make calls in the manner of what Apple already offers with its Memoji.

WhatsApp continues its plans to strengthen its offer. After integrating stickers and animated emoji into its application, we now learn that the messaging service is preparing to launch a feature that Apple and Samsung have already implemented on their side.

WaBetaInfo was able to unearth a future feature that would allow Whatsapp users to create their own personalized avatar. This addition would allow them to make video calls in a slightly more fun way, while avoiding showing themselves directly to the camera.

This feature has been in development since mid-March. For now all we have is this screenshot that shows us the button you’ll need to press to activate your animated avatar.

These avatars will thus make it possible to give a new means of expression to the users of the application. We don’t yet know if they will have a 2D or 3D look, but the customization options should no doubt be limited, at least at first. Whatsapp would also give you the option to send your avatar to your contacts as a sticker.

We do not have a specific date on the arrival of this addition in the application. This is added to the list of new features pending on the application side of Meta, which has just launched haute couture clothing for its avatars on several of its services.

The company is still working to offer more privacy to its users by developing an option that will allow them to manage who can see their personal information.

It has also improved its reaction system and should offer enriched stories in the future. The application would even soon offer the possibility of using up to four additional devices simultaneously.
