Yemen: Houthi destroys, UAE’s hand builds
The United Arab Emirates continues to lend a helping hand to Yemen’s brethren as lawless armed militias shell residential communities, neighborhoods, and schools, with the UAE providing unparalleled support for the construction of cities of life and housing millions displaced by the coup.
The generous hand of the UAE did not stop at humanitarian aid in this country, which has been ravaged by the Houthi coup war for eight years. Instead, it continued to provide developmental gifts to create housing for thousands of Yemenis.
Yemeni authorities recently unveiled a new UAE project to build a fully-fledged residential city for residents of Mayyun Island, which lacked infrastructure in the construction sector.
The first phase of the construction and development of an integrated residential city was signed by the United Arab Emirates in support of the people of Mayyun Island, Aden Governor Ahmed Lamlas said in a statement.
The signing ceremony took place between Ahmed Lamlas and Sheikh Saleh Al-Khorour of the Mayyun Island project, funded by the United Arab Emirates. The project includes the construction of a model residential city consisting of 140 housing units.
The project also includes the rehabilitation of infrastructure and the construction of schools, health units and other service facilities for the project, which will be implemented in a phased manner.
According to the statement, the honor comes as part of a series of projects submitted by “the United Arab Emirates, which has been providing assistance in various economic and development fields to their Yemeni brothers since the era of the late Sheik Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.”
The United Arab Emirates is once again proving that life projects are capable of conquering death projects. The unveiling of the residential city of Mayyun coincided with Houthi attacks and threats targeting many liberated areas, ports and islands in Yemen that have been away from the treacherous blows of militias for years.
