Yemeni fighters sing during their fighting: Death on the fronts is more better
There is a video on social media about Yemeni fighters who are singing a war song against the Iran-backed Houthi militia when they are struggling on the Kassara front, west of the city of Marib. They sing: By God, death on the fronts is glory better than a death on a bed.
In fact, the Houthis launched an attack in February to control Marib, which constitute the last castle in northern Yemen of pro-government forces. Government military sources stated on Saturday that severe fighting between the two sides caused the death of at least 90 combatants on both parties during the past 24 hours.
The sources also indicated that severe confrontations occurred on six fronts, while government forces could counter assaults by the Houthis who could advance just on the Kassara front northwest of Marib city. They added that the struggling injured dozens of people.
The official SPA news agency reported that fragments from Houthi drones targeting Saudi Arabia that were interrupted by the Arab Coalition on Friday injured two civilians, including a 10-year-old, in the southwest of the Kingdom.
On his part, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called on Monday Houthis to stop their attacks in Marib, and he revealed a $191 million in assistance at a donors’ conference.
He also said: Aid alone will not end the conflict. We can only end the humanitarian crisis in Yemen by ending the war…So the US is reinvigorating our diplomatic efforts to end the war.
The United Nations tried to collect $3.85 billion from more than 100 governments and donors; however, just $1.7 billion was given.
