13 dead and dozens injured in violent floods in Afghanistan
At least 13 people have been killed and 16 others injured due to a new wave of heavy rains and flash floods across Afghanistan, according to an official from the country’s National Disaster Authority.

Mullah Janan Sayegh, spokesperson for the authority, said that heavy rains triggered flash floods in the provinces of Ghazni, Laghman, Nangarhar, Farah, Paktia, Badghis, Herat, and Daikundi over the past ten days.
According to Sayegh, the incident also caused severe damage to properties in the provinces, with 109 homes being either completely or partially destroyed. Extensive farmland was also devastated by the floods.
