An 8-Year-Old Fires Gun on His Face… What’s the Story?
An 8-year-old child accidentally fired a bullet into his face, but the injury did not end his life, though it left him in critical condition, according to the police in the city of Warren, Michigan.
Police suspect the pistol used by the child was “unsecured,” meaning the pistol’s safety was not activated, according to what was reported by CNN Arabic network on Sunday.
While the child was transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition, investigators are now looking into how the child gained access to the weapon.
A neighbor, Ricardo Latham, said he “heard a gunshot, then heard someone say: Oh my God,” while the boy was firing a bullet into his face.
Lieutenant Greg Bolton said, “The child was still alive, still breathing, and still conscious when we arrived.”
