The UK’s busiest airport announced that “due to strong winds and airspace restrictions, a small number of flights were canceled today,” confirming that approximately 100 flights were affected, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).
Heathrow Airport handles approximately 650 flights daily, according to its website.

The UK Meteorological Office stated that wind warnings would remain in effect until 9:00 PM GMT on Sunday, with gusts reaching speeds of up to 125 kilometers per hour.
Similarly, P&O Ferries reported that ferry crossings between Larne in Northern Ireland and Cairnryan in southern Scotland were canceled at least until 8:00 PM GMT.
Rail operator ScotRail also announced speed restrictions on certain services in Scotland.
