These violations were not denied by the Sudanese army after allegations were raised by political forces and human rights organizations, who condemned them on Tuesday. They were described as “individual transgressions” committed by some members against the inhabitants of the “Kanabi” in Al-Jazirah State, central Sudan.

The statement affirmed the armed forces’ commitment to international humanitarian law and emphasized their determination to hold accountable anyone involved in abuses against the Kanabi residents or villages in the state.

Rahab Mubarak, a member of the executive office of the “Emergency Lawyers” (a human rights organization) and the Sudanese Human Rights Network, revealed receiving videos showing ethnic executions in Al-Jazirah.
She stated, “A video shows the killing of a citizen, images of children burned, and young and elderly people killed in the informal settlement of Kombo 5. These crimes were committed by the Sudan Shield Forces, led by RSF dissident commander Abu Aqila Kikil, allied with the Sudanese army.”
