“Nuclear Wars” and “Dialog of Stability”… Joint Statement of the Biden-Putin Summit


Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Joe Biden adopted a joint declaration on strategic stability at the end of their talks in Geneva, the Kremlin said Wednesday.

The Kremlin explained that it was agreed between Washington and Moscow in a joint statement that there will be no winners in nuclear wars.

The joint U.S.-Russian statement emphasized that Washington and Moscow are capable of making progress in achieving common goals and reducing the risk of armed conflict.

According to the joint statement, Washington and Moscow agreed to launch a strategic stability dialog as soon as possible.

For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin said : “I have agreed with my American counterpart to start consultations at the level of the two countries on cyber attacks.”

Russia and the United States were different on several issues, but both sides had confirmed their intention to seek common positions.

In a move described as fruitful, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister announced that the Russian Ambassador to the United States will return to work by the end of this month.

“The Russian and U.S. presidents have been locked in a round of wide-ranging talks in Geneva, where relations have deteriorated over the years, especially after Russia’s annexation of Crimea from Ukraine, its intervention in Syria in 2015 and U.S. accusations of piracy and espionage.”
