The Israeli army threatens to strike the railway network in Iran
US-Israeli strikes on Tehran targeted a residential neighborhood that included a Jewish synagogue, leading to the destruction of parts of it.
On Tuesday, the Israeli army said that residents should refrain from using trains or approaching railway lines in Iran, in a new threat to strike transport infrastructure after petrochemical and steel factories in the country were targeted.
In a post published on its Persian-language account on the X platform, the army wrote: “For your safety, we ask you to refrain from using trains and traveling by rail across Iran from now until 21:00 Iran time.”

US-Israeli strikes on the Iranian capital, Tehran, continued last night, with numerous explosions heard, while a bombardment targeting a residential neighborhood that included a Jewish synagogue caused parts of the building to collapse.
Iran’s Mizan news agency reported that the US-Israeli strikes hit several areas of Tehran the previous night, without providing details about the targeted locations or the outcome of the attacks.
Meanwhile, the Mehr news agency stated that one of the US-Israeli strikes on Tehran targeted a residential neighborhood that included a Jewish synagogue, adding that the missile attack caused damage to residential buildings as well as to the synagogue itself, where parts of it collapsed.

In a related context, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Ali Reza Rahimi, called for the launch of a popular initiative to form “human chains” around the country’s electricity production facilities to protect them from being targeted.
Rahimi said, in remarks to Iranian state television on Monday, that the initiative would begin simultaneously across the country at 14:00 on Tuesday, according to local time (UTC+3).
He explained that the initiative would involve youth, university students, artists, and athletes, to emphasize that targeting infrastructure constitutes a “war crime.”
Separately, the Israeli army announced on Tuesday that it had attacked a petrochemical complex in the city of Shiraz in southwestern Iran.

In a statement, it said that it had carried out “yesterday (Monday) a large-scale air raid targeting several areas in Iran, including central infrastructure belonging to the Iranian regime.”
It added that the strikes on Shiraz targeted “another petrochemical complex used by the Iranian armed forces to produce nitric acid, which is an essential substance for manufacturing explosives and other materials involved in the development of ballistic missiles.”
It stated that through this strike, it “expanded the damage to the regime’s military capabilities, focusing on facilities for producing combat means.”

It also stressed that this complex is one of the “few remaining complexes for producing vital chemical components for explosives and materials used in ballistic missiles in Iran, after the Israeli army attacked the largest petrochemical complex in the country as well as the petrochemical complex in Mahshahr,” according to its statement.
On the other hand, the army said it struck a ballistic missile system site in northwestern Iran, which had been used to launch dozens of missiles toward Israel, according to its claims.
On Monday, Iran announced that petrochemical production facilities in the Pars Special Economic Zone in the city of Assaluyeh in the south of the country were damaged as a result of strikes carried out by the United States and Israel, according to sources in Bushehr province cited by the semi-official Iranian Tasnim news agency.

These sources did not mention strikes targeting the petrochemical complex in Shiraz, and no official Iranian comment was issued on the matter.
These developments come after US President Donald Trump said on Monday that talks with Tehran were progressing well, while threatening to target Iranian infrastructure if no agreement is reached.
Since February 28, Israel and the United States have continued their war against Iran, resulting in thousands of deaths and injuries, as well as the assassination of leaders, including former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and security officials.
Tehran has responded by launching missiles and drones toward Israel, and has also targeted, according to its statements, American bases and interests in Arab countries. However, these countries stated that some of these attacks caused civilian casualties and damage to civilian property.
