After Ennahdha crimes were exposed… Ghannouchi uses the Ukraine crisis to put out the anger of Tunisians

About two weeks after the crimes of the Tunisian Ennahdha movement were exposed, which is affiliated to the Muslim Brotherhood, which is classified as terrorist in a number of countries in the world, the leader of the movement, Rached Ghannouchi, turned his back on the voices of millions of Tunisians calling for his departure and holding him accountable for those crimes, taking advantage of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, where he called on the authorities of his country to pay attention to the situation of the Tunisian community in Ukraine.

This came in a statement on the movement’s official Facebook page, appended by a signature of Ghannouchi on behalf of the presidency of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People, whose powers were frozen last July 25 by a decision of Tunisian President Kais Saied.
The statement came hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a massive military operation against Ukraine.

Ghannouchi called on “the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to give full priority and attention to the Tunisian community and students there, and the moral and material briefing that this requires”, adding: “We are following the developments of events in Ukraine and their repercussions on the Tunisian community there, especially our daughters and our students”.

In a tone dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood’s usual orientation, Ghannouchi said: “The Presidency of the Council stresses the need to draw up an integrated plan for the possible evacuation of Tunisian citizens whenever the need arises”.

Courting Tunisian political and social forces, Ghannouchi wrote: “We call on all the active forces, including Tunisian organizations, civil society and national figures, to help the Tunisian state, to unite and cooperate in order to achieve these goals that serve our people in Ukraine”.

On February 9, the defense of the two martyrs, Chokri Belaid and Mohamed Brahmi, announced the existence of documents revealing the involvement of Ennahdha and its leader, Rached Ghannouchi, in damaging the files of the cases of intentional assassinations and in communicating with a foreign country.

The intelligence is one of a series of charges that the committee has brought against Ghannouchi. The committee accused him and his son Moaz of money laundering and of carrying out suspicious financial transactions with parties linked to the State of Qatar to finance the travel of young Tunisians to Syria to join ISIS camps.

In addition to the intelligence and money laundering, the committee confirmed the existence of documents confirming Ghannouchi’s involvement in the attack on the internal security of the state, pointing out that Ghannouchi and his group blocked all the avenues of truth-telling and all the paths leading to an official indictment of Ghannouchi, which led to a wave of protests calling for Ennahdha and its leader to be held accountable for these crimes.
