Al-Sissi calls for African strategy to eliminate Terrorism
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi has called for the formulation of a clear African strategy to eradicate the threat of extremism and terrorism and dry up its funding sources.
This came during a speech delivered by Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Saturday, via video conference, on behalf of President al-Sissi, at the expanded meeting of the African Union Summit Bureau.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the current Chairman of the African Union, Félix Tshisekedi, to discuss a number of issues specific to the African continent.
In his speech, the Egyptian President reviewed his country’s position on a number of issues of peace and security on the African continent, stressing Egypt’s endeavor to provide assistance to the countries of the continent by intensifying training courses for their cadres in the field of combating terrorism and participating in UN peacekeeping missions.
He stressed that Egypt will spare no effort to work with its African brothers, thus contributing to overcoming the challenges facing the continent and returning steadily to achieve the goals and aspirations of peoples.
