Bullying leads an Egyptian girl to suicide

A psychological crisis compelled an Egyptian girl to end her life by hanging after enduring bullying due to her suffering from dwarfism.

This tragedy occurred in the village of Al-Qaytoun in the Dakhleya Governorate, northern Egypt, and came to light when security authorities received a notification about a girl committing suicide by hanging inside her home.

Police officers went to the house and found the lifeless body of an 18-year-old girl, a third-year high school student, hanging from a rope attached to an iron loop on the ceiling of the entrance, with a wooden bench beneath her.

The girl’s father stated that his daughter resorted to suicide due to her deteriorating mental state, as she was experiencing bullying because of her dwarfism. He did not accuse anyone of causing this situation.
