Emirates Newspapers: Human Brotherhood Document Is Message of Peace to Humanity
Emirati newspapers published today Friday confirmed that Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and His Eminence Dr Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, and His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church, emphasized during the celebration of the International Day of Human Fraternity, the importance of promoting the values of fraternity, dialogue and coexistence, which are the values contained in the Document of Human Fraternity, whose principles are regarded as a constitution which establishes peace, free from fanaticism, prejudices and entrenchment behind ideas.
The Al-Khaleej newspaper, for its part, confirmed that the United Arab Emirates have led the world to this day when the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution last year presented by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt, declaring February 4 of each year as the “International Day of Human Brotherhood”.
In its editorial titled “February 4 … A Celebration of Humanity”, the newspaper underlined what was claimed by the Grand Imam, Dr Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, that the celebration of document is a celebration of the world historical event, which announces the beginning of a message of peace carried by the rational person of the world to all humanity. It calls for brotherhood and cooperation, for an end to wars, for the spread of tolerance and harmony and for the rejection of intolerance and hatred.
The newspaper pointed out that the broadcast of the UAE celebration yesterday with the winners of the Sheikh Zayed Prize for Human Fraternity on the International Day of Human Fraternity in Abu Dhabi has a symbolism in that this award is inspired by the human heritage of the late founder Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan – may God have mercy on his soul – who has been committed throughout his life to defending human values and bridging societies.
Pope Francis of the Catholic Church said at the award ceremony organized by the Supreme Committee of the Fraternity of Humanity Foundation that by celebrating the winners and broadcasting them electronically to the world, that the Human brotherhood is an inevitable necessity for humanity, and that despite our different cultures, we are able to strengthen our solidarity, and it is time to listen and sincerely accept each other.
In turn, Al-Watan newspaper said that the “Human Fraternity Document” is the gift of the UAE to the whole world, as it constitutes a pivotal point in the journey of humanity towards strengthening the bridges of communication and ending the differences between her nations and peoples. The document, which was signed by the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, quickly turned The Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar, and His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church, to an International Day of Human Fraternity, which was approved by the United Nations and aims at openness and solidarity between people
Under the headline “Human brotherhood, the UAE’s gift to the world”, the newspaper pointed out that the awarding of the award, which coincided with the International Day of Human Brotherhood, confirms the importance of values as a necessary material for progress of nations and not to put barriers between them, because peace, dialogue and openness are sufficient to overcome any thought that believes that there are differences when they are the values are a constitution for everyone in the life, and this is what all monotheistic religions instill and affirm.
Al-Watan said in their editorial: where peace and brotherhood prevail, security prevails, love spreads, development is enhanced and achievements are made, all of which are humanitarian goals and the demands of nations and of the peoples of the earth.
