From a Secret Hideout… Mojtaba Khamenei Delays the Announcement of the Agreement with Washington

The world is awaiting the announcement of an agreement between the United States and Iran that would end the war that began on February 28 and temporarily stopped on April 8.

The American network “CBS News” revealed the reason behind the delay in announcing the agreement: Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.

The network quoted informed American officials as saying that the Iranian leader is effectively trapped in a secret location, with very limited access to the outside world, and can only be reached through a complex network of intermediaries.

Iranian officials authorized to work with the Trump administration are reportedly struggling to communicate within their own governmental system, which is considered the primary reason behind the slow emergence of details regarding a potential agreement with Iran and previous arrangements.

Two American officials stated that “when the United States sends proposed details, the difficulty in reaching Mojtaba Khamenei means there may be a long delay before Washington receives a response.”

According to the American network, a White House spokesperson declined to comment on intelligence information related to Khamenei’s whereabouts or Iranian communication methods.

A senior U.S. administration official said that the Iranian leader had approved the general outlines of the current draft agreement, while U.S. President Donald Trump expects the matter to be resolved within the coming days.

Mojtaba Khamenei was injured in American and Israeli strikes carried out on the first day of the war, February 28, which led to the death of his father, former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Since that day, Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared publicly, in a video message, or in an audio recording, and it is believed that he is following extremely strict security measures to avoid strikes similar to those that killed his father.

According to an American official, U.S. and Israeli intelligence obtained from inside the Iranian government enabled the location and elimination of a large portion of Iran’s senior leadership during the war.

Sources said that most Iranian leaders at this stage no longer see daylight, spending weeks inside heavily fortified shelters and avoiding communication with one another except when absolutely necessary.

An American official stated: “Watching them try to figure out how to communicate with each other is like watching a comedy series. They are extremely frustrated.”

“CBS News” also reported that even officials at the highest levels of the Iranian government do not know Mojtaba Khamenei’s location and have no direct means of contacting him, instead relying on a network of couriers established to conceal the leader’s whereabouts.
