Iran’s crisis affects Hezbollah’s plans to take control of Lebanon

Since the beginning of the crises in Lebanon, Hezbollah has seen a reconciliation that goes hand in hand with it, particularly in the presidential vacuum where it finds the appropriate atmosphere for its policies. For a while now, the party has been preparing for the presidential vacuum and its leaders have been studying the political options to draw its plan during this vacuum.

Over the past period, Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah, has emphasized a tendency toward the political vacuum after he refrained from addressing the issues of the government and the presidency, citing the lack of time.

Political and military crises

Informed sources revealed that Hezbollah is living through a political and military crisis, which has multiplied over the past few weeks due to angry protests in Iran, where the Iranian regime is preoccupied with supporting Hezbollah’s organization with its internal crises, and the money sent by the regime to its most important arm in Lebanon and the Middle East.

On the political level, there are no indications to say that the presidential elections could take place within the constitutional deadline, especially with the low chances of Gebran Bassil reaching the presidency, as the presidential vacuum allows some Lebanese parties to lay their hands on the country, and there is some kind of local administration or authorities.

Mock democracy

In the same context, Hezbollah is in a state of fear of the presidential vacuum, especially with the assertions that the meeting scheduled for next Thursday will not be much different from the previous one. Despite Hezbollah’s control – by force of arms – in the Lebanese democratic process, the extremist party calls for a settlement at the expense of the sovereignty of the state, as President Michel Aoun was not elected as a result of an exceptional settlement after he was supported by his strongest opponents, and when he was elected as a party president in the axis of Hezbollah.
