Terrifying earthquake hits Japan with 5-meter tsunami waves
The Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) reported that an initial magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck northern-central Japan on Monday.
The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a warning of possible massive tsunami waves along the coastal areas of the Ishikawa, Niigata, and Toyama prefectures.
NHK stated that tsunami waves with an expected height of up to 5 meters are anticipated to reach the Noto region on the western coast.
NHK mentioned that waves exceeding one meter in height hit the coast of the city of Wajima in Ishikawa.
Hokuriku Electric Power Company stated that they are checking for any abnormalities in their nuclear power plants.
