The return of Hamdok… A joke that turns into a rumor that the enemies used to offend the UAE
The United Arab Emirates is exposed to tendentious campaigns from time to time, Whenever there is anything new in a friendly country, even if it is just a rumor, some media outlets and social media influencers inject the state into it and seizing the opportunity to direct abuse and spread lies and fabrications.
The distortion of the image of the United Arab Emirates, the coverage of its strategy in conflict resolution, its active role in providing humanitarian assistance to needy peoples in all parts of the world, its leadership in all scientific, technical, social and economic fields, and its advancement and prosperity, was a methodology followed by every malevolent, hateful, and fearful person of the Emirates’ regional and global standing through the dissemination of false rumors, false accusations and exposed lies.
Unprecedented involvement
This time the barking and wailing came from Sudan, in a systematic campaign to involve the UAE in the internal situation of Sudan, which has been divided and disintegrated since the overthrow of the regime of Omar Al-Bashir. Several media outlets and social media influencers have circulated news that former Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok will return to lead the Sudanese government.
These rumors have implicated the United Arab Emirates in the matter, claiming that Hamdok’s return to the Sudanese political scene was sponsored by the United Arab Emirates, and that the state is working on returning him to infiltrate the government and to loot gold and oil.
These rumors have dominated the Sudanese arena, and Sudanese have been preoccupied with them for days. Local and international media even reported the formation of an independent, qualified government next week, to lead the remainder of the transitional period. Local media also reported that Hamdok had already arrived in Khartoum, that the next government would be far from partisan quotas, and that the leaders nominated had no outright political affiliation.
Noise for nothing
All of this news, bidding and abuse for the UAE turned out to be a noise for nothing. It all started as soon as a comment by a journalist called Mohamed Abdelbaqi Fadel El Sayed on his Facebook account, in which he talked about Hamdok’s arrival at Khartoum airport, but he said in a subsequent post that this comment was just a joke.
However, that joke was quickly transformed into unsubstantiated information, which was later published by widely circulated newspapers without verification, with its attribution to “reliable sources”!. This is what the journalist expressed his regret for.
This joke confirms the veracity of the reliable sources on which some newspapers and influential people rely in reporting news and facts. It also confirms the eagerness of those hostile to the UAE to hold on to anything, no matter how trivial or any news, even if it is just a baseless rumor, and to exaggerate it for nothing but to insult the UAE.
Former Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok left his post in response to the decisions of the Sudanese Army Command on October 25, 2021. He returned as Prime Minister less than a month later, according to an agreement with Al-Burhan from (14) items; Most notably, the civil-military partnership continues, and the constitutional document was amended by consensus to ensure broader political participation. However, this agreement also collapsed following Hamdok’s resignation from the prime minister’s office on January 2.
