Yemen: Army repels attack in Taiz… How the Houthis exploited the humanitarian ceasefire

The Yemeni army forces repelled an attack launched by Houthi militias on army positions near the air defense perimeter in northwestern Taiz (southwestern Yemen), inflicting significant losses on the terrorist militias.

The media center of the Yemeni army in the Taiz front, through Facebook, stated that “the National Army forces, supported by popular resistance, thwarted a Houthi infiltration attempt on their positions in the Damina area west of Taiz city, confirming casualties among the rebel militias.”

This comes at a time when the Houthi militias continue to mobilize their forces to the fronts surrounding the city of Taiz, in an attempt to tighten the noose on it, in a blatant challenge to international and regional efforts aiming to reach a new agreement for a comprehensive ceasefire in the country.

It is worth mentioning that the recent escalation between the Yemeni army and the Houthis in Taiz province is part of confrontations witnessed in several areas in Yemen, amid a fragile truce in the Arab country.

In a separate context, Iran’s proxy in Yemen officially announced the completion of its military preparations for the upcoming battle against government forces, reaffirming its exploitation of the humanitarian ceasefire and peace efforts to reorganize its ranks. It seems that the south will be its next target.

This announcement came through a statement by the self-proclaimed Minister of Defense of the terrorist militias in the internationally unrecognized Sana’a government, Mohammed al-Atifi, who said during a visit to his elements on the borders of Dhale province that his militias have reached a high level of self-sufficiency, from Kalashnikov bullets to strategic ballistic missiles with long ranges, as reported by “Yemen Al-Arabi” website.

He openly admitted that the equation has changed and that they are militarily ready for confrontation. He threatened the countries of the Arab coalition, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, with inflicting further losses if they do not withdraw from Yemeni territories, according to his claims.
