Yemen: The Giants’ Brigades reposition, the army and the coalition continue their attacks

The Giants Brigades, loyal to Yemen’s legitimate government, have completed operations against the Houthis in Yemen’s southern and central provinces of Shabwah and Marib.

In a brief statement published yesterday on Yemen News, the Giants’ Brigades said: “It is repositioning its forces in Shabwah province, after fully liberating the districts of Beihan and Harib and securing Shabwah province from Houthi militias, to prepare them for future battles until all areas under the control of Houthi terrorist militias are liberated”.

Clashes are continuing in Marib province between the Yemeni National Army and the Houthi militia on a number of fronts.

The fighting is concentrated on the southern and western fronts, particularly the Sahrawi front, which is witnessing an ongoing offensive by the national army against Houthi militia positions holed up in the strategic Umm Rish camp.

Despite Houthi’s attempts to make many fortifications, the national army has reached advanced areas of this mountain range in the north and east and has met with the Giants.

The Houthi militia attempted to entrench a group of its members in the western front of Marib province and infiltrate through valleys to circumvent army positions, state news agency Saba reported.

Yemeni army forces attacked Houthi militia positions on the southern front in Marib province, killing and wounding them.

The agency said: “The attack, which also involved the popular resistance, destroyed Houthi combat vehicles and equipment, she said, adding that the army and the popular resistance seized medium and light weapons”.

Citing an unnamed military source, it said that army and resistance fighters ambushed the Houthis northwest of Marib; killing several members of the group.

The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced yesterday that it carried out 24 targeting operations against Houthi militias in Marib within 24 hours. The Alliance added that the targeting in Marib destroyed 16 Houthi militia vehicles, killing more than 70 of them.
