Yemeni army: 30 soldiers killed and injured in Houthi violations
The Yemeni army forces announced on Friday that 30 soldiers from its forces have been killed and wounded over the past five days along six combat axes.
The Yemeni army said it recorded 467 breaches of the UN truce by the Iranian-backed Houthi militias in five days (14-18 August) in the Hodeida, Taiz, Dhale, Saada, Al-Jawf and Marib fronts.
The West Coast fronts have been at the forefront of the Houthi militia’s violations, with 204 violations, while the rest have been divided into 94 violations in Marib, 85 in Taiz, 51 in Hajjah, and 33 violations in the Al-Jawf, Dhale, and Saada axes, the statement said.
The violations of the Houthi militias resulted in the death of 13 soldiers from the Yemeni army and the joint forces, and the injury of 27 others, according to the same source.
The statement said Houthi violations ranged from ground offensives using infiltration attempts, aerial attacks using drones and heavy artillery shelling, to the construction of sites and trenches, the mobilization of reinforcements and the deployment of spy planes traveling along the various fronts.
Earlier, Houthi militias used drones to bomb residential homes in Qa’tabah District in Dhale, southern Yemen, partially damaging a number of homes.
According to the Yemeni government, these violations have resulted in the death and injury of around 1,100 civilians and military personnel since the entry of the humanitarian truce.
A truce between the internationally recognized government and the Houthi militias, which came into effect on April 2 and was renewed twice for two months, is in effect in Yemen, and the government and the Arab coalition have fulfilled their humanitarian provisions, including the ceasefire resolution and military operations, despite the disavowal of the putschists.
