Nightly protests continue in Tehran/Iran :Protesters burn Basij headquarters in Qom
After 93 days of public protests in Iran, protesters in Tehran, Karaj, Rasht and Mashhad continued to escalate, blocking streets in these cities and chanting slogans against the regime and its supreme leader on Monday evening until early hours of Tuesday morning.
The protesters held an anti-regime demonstration in Islah Square in the area surrounding the metro station, chanting slogans such as “Death to the dictator”, “Political prisoners must be released”, and protesters burned down a Basij headquarters and a photograph of Qassem Soleimani in Qom.
On Jamalizadeh Street, a group of citizens chanted slogans such as “Political prisoners must be released” and “We don’t want a regime that kills children”. Demonstrators chanted slogans such as “Death to a dictator” and “Death to the Islamic Republic” near the Shariati metro station.
At least two areas in Kalamcheh and Kohrdasht witnessed nighttime demonstrations against the Islamic Republic regime on Monday evening. Each month, protesters protested the executions, chanting slogans such as “Death to the dictator,” and repeating the names of “Mohsen Shekari” and “Majid Reza Rahnavard”, who were executed by the Iranian authorities.
During street protests on Monday night in Kohrdasht-e-Karaj, demonstrators chanted several slogans, including “I swear by the blood of my comrades, I will stand to the end”.
Several areas of Mashhad, in north-eastern Iran, including Vakilabad, witnessed street protests despite tight security in the city. Demonstrators chanted slogans such as “Freedom, Freedom, Freedom” and “Death to the Dictator.”
Two areas of Rasht, in northern Iran, witnessed massive anti-regime demonstrations protesting the execution of protesters. A group of citizens, especially women and girls, lit fires and blocked a section of the street on Muallem Avenue in Rasht, chanting slogans such as “Death to the dictator” and “This year is the year of blood where Khamenei’s mandate will fall”.
Protests that have continued in Iran since their inception on September 16th, under the slogan “Woman, Life, Freedom,” after the death of Mahsa Amini in the custody of the Morality Police, have included at least 161 Iranian cities, during which at least 460 protesters were killed, including dozens of women and children.
The authorities arrested some 20,000 people and sentenced 41 protesters to death for “Hirabah”, two of them for carrying out the racket, sparking international and international outrage.
