Earthquake Strikes the Egyptian City of Luxor… What was its magnitude?
The Egyptian National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research confirmed recording an earthquake with a magnitude exceeding 4.5 on the Richter scale east of Luxor, in the southern part of the country.
The institute stated, “We are currently analyzing the data related to the earthquake and working on accurately determining its epicenter and depth.” It added that several citizens reported feeling the tremor.
