In a statement released today, Saturday, the Israeli army announced the death of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, as well as the death of Ali Karki, the head of the party’s southern front, and other leaders.

The statement said, “The Defense Forces eliminated the so-called Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the Hezbollah organization and one of its founders, yesterday (Friday).”

It added, “The Defense Forces also eliminated the so-called Ali Karki, leader of the southern front of Hezbollah, along with a number of other party leaders.”

Detailing the operation, the statement clarified that “aircraft from the air force attacked, guided by precise intelligence from the military intelligence and security institution, the central headquarters of Hezbollah, located underground beneath a residential building in the southern suburbs.”

It noted that “the strike was carried out while the leadership of Hezbollah was inside the headquarters coordinating terrorist activities against Israeli citizens.”

The army vowed to continue “targeting anyone who promotes or engages in terrorist acts against the citizens of the State of Israel.”

Who is Ali Karki?

He is a military leader in Hezbollah and the head of the southern front, who had previously been targeted by the Israeli army in an airstrike in the Madi neighborhood of the southern suburbs of Beirut on September 23.

Israeli and Lebanese media sources report that Karki is the third military leader in Hezbollah after Fouad Shaker, who was assassinated by Israel in the southern suburbs on July 30, and Ibrahim Akeel, who was also killed by Israeli air forces in the same area on September 20.
