Leaks Reveal Israeli Preparations to Strike Iran and U.S. Concerns

American officials have expressed deep concerns over a potential major security breach following the publication of two intelligence documents allegedly issued by the United States, relating to Israeli preparations for an attack on Iran. The documents were posted on a Telegram account affiliated with Iran, according to the American website Axios.

Attempt to Disrupt

According to the website, these leaks come at a time when Israel is completing several weeks of preparations to respond to Iran, which launched a ballistic missile attack on Israel on October 1. It is believed that the leak of these documents may be an attempt to disrupt the planned Israeli military operations.

Both the Pentagon and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence declined to comment on the leaked documents, but they did not question their authenticity.

A Telegram account named “Middle East Observer” revealed last Friday that it had received documents from a source within the American intelligence community, indicating Israeli preparations for an attack on Iran.

Revealing Israeli Plans

The alleged documents include a report from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) of the U.S. Department of Defense, which was circulated within the American intelligence community earlier this week.

The documents point to Israeli military actions in recent days at several Israeli Air Force bases, including the transfer of advanced munitions, allegedly intended for an attack on Iran.

The report also mentions that U.S. signals intelligence tracked a major Israeli Air Force exercise this week, involving intelligence aircraft and training fighters, in preparation for a potential strike on Iran.

Preparations by Israeli drone units for an attack on Iran were also mentioned.

The leaked documents reveal detailed U.S. monitoring of Israeli preparations, including the use of satellites to spy on operations being conducted at Israeli Air Force bases.

This leak suggests the possibility of a serious security breach within the U.S. intelligence community, allowing highly classified information to reach a Telegram channel linked to Iran.

An American official told Axios that the leak was extremely concerning, but he did not believe it would affect Israel’s operational plans against Iran.

Meanwhile, a senior Israeli official stated that the Israeli defense establishment was aware of the leak and was taking it very seriously.

U.S. Investigation

Additionally, the American network NPR revealed that the United States is conducting extensive investigations into how such documents were leaked and whether the leak came from an individual within the American intelligence community or from a cyber security breach.

NPR added that these documents were highly classified and only allowed to circulate within the “Five Eyes” alliance, which includes the United States, Australia, Canada, Britain, and New Zealand.

The leak of such documents is seen as a blow to U.S. efforts to present itself as a moderate mediator in the Middle East, as the American administration is pressuring Israel to lift the blockade on northern Gaza and refrain from carrying out airstrikes on the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

A senior U.S. official stated that the documents appeared genuine and highly reliable, leaving little room for doubt regarding their authenticity.
