Anticipation and Preparations in Israel for a Double Attack from Iran and Yemen

Israel is on high alert and preparing for a simultaneous attack from two fronts — Iran, which has been the target of an unprecedented Israeli assault since Friday, and Yemen.

Israeli authorities have urged citizens to brace for a new Iranian attack, which media outlets suggest may coincide with another offensive from Yemen.

The Israeli military stated on the X platform: “The Home Front Command has issued instructions for residents in several areas to remain near protected zones. Movement in these areas should be minimized, and large gatherings avoided.”

They added: “Upon receiving this alert, please enter the protected area and remain there until further official notice.”

This warning is typically followed by a mobile phone alert and, a few minutes later, the sounding of air raid sirens.

Israelis usually rush to shelters across the country upon hearing the alarms.

Channel 12 reported that a coordinated attack from Yemen may occur simultaneously with the Iranian offensive, similar to the incident on Saturday night.

Tsivki Tesler from the Home Front Command told Channel 12: “It seems that tonight, we’ll need to stay near a protected area for a long time. I advise anyone who can to sleep in the shelter.”

Since early Friday morning, Israel has launched a massive aerial campaign against Iran using over 200 fighter jets in an operation named “Rising Lion”, targeting nuclear facilities, missile bases, and killing senior military commanders and nuclear scientists.

The Israeli army stated that this “preemptive” strike, carried out in successive waves, was launched under political directives.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “The goal of this unprecedented attack is to strike Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, ballistic missile factories, and a wide range of military capabilities.”

In response, Iran asserted its legitimate right to retaliate, and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei vowed a “crushing response” that would make Israel regret its assault.
