Israel strikes Hamas, Hezbollah, and Houthi “weapons supply line” in Iran… Who is Behnam Shahriari?

In less than 24 hours, Israel has announced the killing of a third senior Iranian commander: Behnam Shahriari, head of the combat logistics transport unit (Unit 190) of the IRGC’s Quds Force.
On Saturday, the Israeli army stated that, based on precise intelligence provided by the Military Intelligence Directorate, Israeli Air Force jets had targeted and killed Shahriari overnight while he was traveling in western Iran.
Shahriari was reportedly killed inside his vehicle.
According to the statement, he was in charge of all logistics and weapons transfers from the Iranian regime to its proxies across the Middle East—namely Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, and Hamas in Gaza.
For years, he played a key role in arming these groups, which Israel considers terrorist organizations, in line with Tehran’s broader strategy to undermine and eventually destroy the State of Israel.
The statement added that Shahriari worked directly with Hezbollah and Hamas, as well as the Houthis and other militias, and was responsible for supplying them with rockets and missiles used in recent attacks against Israeli territory.
He also oversaw the transfer of hundreds of millions of dollars annually to these groups through a clandestine financial network involving front companies, currency exchange offices, and money couriers based in Turkey and Lebanon.
His assassination is seen as a major blow to the operational capabilities of Israel’s regional adversaries, especially as they attempt to rebuild after enduring heavy military losses in the current conflict.
In recent hours, hostilities have escalated between Iran and Israel, marking the ninth day of a confrontation with worrying implications for regional and global stability.
Israel carried out multiple strikes on the city of Isfahan in southern Iran, where more than ten explosions were reportedly heard.
In Qom, about 157 kilometers southwest of Tehran, an Israeli airstrike hit a building, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuries to four others, according to local media.
An Iranian official also announced the arrest of 22 individuals in Qom on charges of spying for Israel.
Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant confirmed the death of Saeed Izadi, the commander of the Quds Force’s Palestinian Division, who was killed in Qom.
He also announced the elimination of Amin For Joudkhi, head of the second drone unit of the IRGC.
