Because of You, I Ended Up Arguing with People… Netanyahu’s Wife Shouts at Him

The VIP box at the opening ceremony of the Maccabiah Games in Israel became the scene of a tense moment following a confrontation involving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his wife Sara Netanyahu, and members of his staff.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara Netanyahu, attended yesterday’s opening ceremony of the Maccabiah Games, which are held every four years to bring together Jewish athletes from around the world.

Addressing the athletes, Netanyahu said: “We are one nation and one family, with one shared destiny. Therefore, be proud, be strong, and together we will prevail.”

However, behind the scenes, an unusual and embarrassing incident unfolded, as described by the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.

According to Channel 13 correspondent Michael Shemesh, Sara Netanyahu raised her voice at the Prime Minister and members of his staff during the ceremony, telling him: “Because of you, I ended up arguing with people here. You made me argue with them.”

She also addressed Netanyahu’s advisers, saying: “You are supposed to take care of me. Why am I not being allowed to pass?”

Meanwhile, journalist Uri Misgav posted a video on his Facebook account showing what appears to be part of the incident.

The footage shows the Prime Minister’s wife moving around the VIP section in visible frustration while speaking to her husband and those surrounding him.

According to Shemesh, Sara Netanyahu’s complaints continued for several minutes in front of numerous attendees. The video was reportedly recorded after the situation had partially calmed down.

As of now, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office has not issued any comment regarding the incident.
