He Chose to Respond: Netanyahu Ignores Trump’s Calls and Strikes Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not heed the appeals of U.S. President Donald Trump and decided to respond to the latest Iranian attack.

Iranian media reported hearing explosions in Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan, and Kermanshah, as well as in several other areas. Meanwhile, the Israeli military announced that it had struck military targets in central and western Iran based on intelligence provided by the Military Intelligence Directorate.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that Israel had carried out attacks against targets inside Iran using air-launched ballistic missiles.

The strikes came as part of Israel’s response to missiles fired by Iran toward the Israeli state, which Tehran launched in retaliation for an Israeli strike on Beirut’s southern suburbs, the main stronghold of the Lebanese group Hezbollah.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump held a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, urging him not to retaliate against the Iranian attack. However, the American news outlet Axios reported that Netanyahu complied with Trump’s request “to some extent.”
