A mother in the province of Aydın, western Turkey, was shocked to discover that her two children had ingested birth control pills she was regularly taking to prevent further pregnancies.

According to local media, the mother realized the serious mistake her children, aged one and two, had made and immediately called emergency services.

An ambulance transported the two children to the hospital for treatment of the effects of the hormonal medication, after the medical team, which arrived at their home, provided them with first aid.

Currently, the two children are undergoing treatment at Aydın Women and Children’s Hospital.
