Adele finally unveiled the first extract of her latest album: « Easy On Me » this October 15. A title that immediately met with immense success and whose clip was put in pictures by filmmaker Xavier Dolan.
”Easy On Me”, her first single in five years, also earns the biggest week of digital download sales of 2021 so far, with 23,500 according to the Official Charts Company.
The only song Adele shares with the world, which evokes the painful years she’s lived since her last song, has earned 217,000 and 300 sales, the record in her first week of single since Ed Sheeran’s 2017 ”The Shape of You”, according to the Official Singles Chart.
And if you’re looking forward to Adele’s fourth album, the wait is over as it’s scheduled for November 19.
The single also saw two of her earlier hits climb back into the Top 40 with ”When We Were Young” coming in at 25, and ”Someone Like You” at 34.
The British singer, 33, recalls a « year of » anxiety as her marriage broke down.
Adele started recording her work three years ago, according to Twitter, her life was “laborious with absolute chaos and internal unrest”.
