Al Jaber: Houthi Militias rejects peace and kill civilians

Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Yemen, Mohamed al-Jaber, said on Thursday that Houthi militias are the only party in the country that rejects peace efforts.

This came during a meeting between the Saudi ambassador to Yemen and the US envoy to Yemen, Tim Linderking, and a number of US officials.

In a series of posts on his Twitter account, Al-Jaber said, “Everyone condemned the continuation of the Houthi militias‘ attacks on the Kingdom, the brutal Houthi attack on Marib, and their rejection of the ceasefire and the increase of the human suffering of the Yemeni people”.

He added: “The actions of the Houthi criminal militia have confirmed to the international and humanitarian community that they are the only rejecter of peace efforts and an end to bloodshed“.

He pointed out that the Houthi militias deliberately kill civilians and target them with missiles and Iranian-made drones in their mosques, homes and even camps to which they sought refuge to escape the tyranny and brutality of the Houthi militias.

The meeting between the Saudi ambassador to Yemen and the US envoy coincides with the start of a new Middle East tour for talks with the Yemeni government and other officials, according to the US State Department.

“It also comes with the untiring efforts of UN envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg to seek a comprehensive political solution under the UN umbrella, but it is hit by an unprecedented military escalation by Iran-backed Houthi militias“.

“The putschist militia has been carrying out the most expensive military offensive since the beginning of the year to overrun the eastern province of Marib, raising international and UN concerns about peace in the impoverished country”.
