Arab Coalition interrupts explosive-laden drone launched by Houthi towards Saudi Arabia
State news agency SPA reported on Wednesday that the Arab Coalition interrupted and demolished an explosive-laden drone launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia in Yemen towards Saudi Arabia.
According to SPA, the Coalition’s spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki declared that the Coalition’s joint forces intercepted and destroyed on Wednesday an explosive-laden drone launched by the terrorist Houthi militia towards the Kingdom in a deliberate attempt to target civilian objects and civilians.
In fact, in August and September the Houthis have increased aerial assaults towards civilian areas in the Kingdom, mostly via explosive-laden drones. The Arab Coalition has succeeded in interrupting and damaging most of them.
It should be noted on September 20 that a Houthi military missile was launched from inside Yemen towards a border village in Jazan Region in Saudi Arabia, wounding five civilians.
Moreover, Cross-border assaults by Houthi forces aligned to Iran have been raised since late May, when a truce imposed by the coronavirus pandemic finished. In late June, weapons reached the Saudi capital Riyadh.
