Caravan of Hope… UAE Aid reaches Gaza for the first time since Rafah crossing closure
In a scene that instills hope and optimism, a convoy of UAE trucks loaded with humanitarian aid has arrived in Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing, for the first time since the closure of the Rafah crossing on May 6.
This event carries a powerful humanitarian message, affirming the UAE’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people amid the difficult circumstances facing the region.
Gaza has recently witnessed a severe humanitarian crisis due to the halt in the flow of essential aid following the closure of the Rafah crossing, exacerbating the suffering of local residents and worsening the shortage of food and relief supplies.
The arrival of this aid marks a significant turning point in alleviating the burden on displaced and needy families in the region, highlighting the active humanitarian role played by the UAE under the “Gallant Knight 3” operation. This step underscores Arab solidarity and noble humanitarian stances that distinguish the UAE in supporting sisterly peoples during crises.
UAE Leads the Way
Today, Kerem Shalom witnessed an exceptional event with the arrival of a convoy of UAE aid laden with large quantities of diverse humanitarian supplies to Gaza.
This convoy is part of the ongoing relief efforts by the UAE to support the sector’s population after humanitarian aid was suspended due to the closure of the Rafah crossing on May 6, resulting in exacerbated humanitarian crisis in Gaza and shortages of essential goods in markets.
The convoy, carrying trucks loaded with 80 tons of aid, includes tents used to provide shelter for displaced families due to unstable security conditions. In addition, the trucks contain basic humanitarian supplies, food parcels, and a large quantity of dates, which are among the most urgent needs as Gaza’s population suffers from hunger and a shortage of essential food items.
Intensive Efforts
Volunteer teams from the “Gallant Knight 3” operation immediately began distributing aid to displaced families in various areas of Gaza upon the convoy’s arrival.
These efforts included the distribution of tents and food parcels to the displaced in various shelter centers, aiming to reach the largest possible number of needy families and alleviate their suffering amid harsh humanitarian conditions exacerbated by the closure of the Rafah crossing.
Through “The Gallant Knight 3“, the UAE aims to enhance its humanitarian and relief role in Gaza, sparing no effort to support affected residents since the crisis began.
This humanitarian move aims to alleviate the suffering of displaced Palestinian families and meet their urgent needs through humanitarian projects aimed at providing basic necessities and improving living conditions for affected populations.
The arrival of this UAE aid to Gaza represents a beacon of hope and reflects the spirit of Arab solidarity and cooperation in facing humanitarian crises.
It also enhances the UAE’s position as a leading country in humanitarian and relief efforts, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and alleviating their suffering in these difficult times.
It is worth noting that the UAE, under the wise leadership of its leaders, continues its humanitarian efforts to aid its Palestinian brothers in Gaza, launching humanitarian initiatives, including “The Gallant Knight 3“, which has delivered more than 25,000 tons of humanitarian, food, and medical aid to Gaza through three ships, 216 planes, and nearly 1000 trucks.
