The Walking Dead Daryl Dixon, has started shooting in Paris, France

Fans are really excited to see what this new The Walking Dead series has in store for them. Well good news, because the filming of “The Walking Dead Daryl Dixon” has officially started.

Daryl Dixon lost in France

While the parent series takes place in an America ravaged by the living dead, The Walking Dead Daryl Dixon invites us to discover other post-apocalyptic lands. And not anywhere, since it is in France that these new misadventures will take place.

Reported by Comicbook.com, Dan McDermott explains that in this spin off, Daryl “wakes up and finds himself somewhere on the European continent and tries to piece together what happened. How did he get here? How will he get home? »

The president of the AMC chain did not say more, but the story promises to be interesting, especially compared to the character of Daryl who finds himself in unknown territory. As TWD-verse content director Scott M. Gimple explains, Daryl is bound to feel lost at first: “He finds himself having to reinvent himself again, finding himself, and also, not being with – probably – the only people in the world he is comfortable with. »

Poor thing anyway! Especially since originally, he was not supposed to be alone. It was indeed expected that the spin-off tells the new misadventures of Daryl AND Carol, but the interpreter of the latter, Melissa McBride, finally withdrew from the project to be able to devote herself more to her family.

A prolific franchise

Daryl Dixon isn’t the only character from The Walking Dead who’s getting his own solo series. AMC is indeed preparing two other spin offs: one with the duo Maggie/Negan (Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the other with the couple Rick/Michonne (Andrew Lincoln and Danaï Gurira)!

Fans are really looking forward to hearing more about all of these upcoming The Walking Dead series. In the meantime, the franchise has plenty of other spin-offs from the parent series, including Fear the Walking Dead which follows a dysfunctional blended family at the very start of the zombie apocalypse. There is also The Walking Dead: World Beyond which takes place ten years after the apocalypse and follows “the next generation”, teenagers who have never known the world before.
