Twitter is testing a Notes function that allows you to exceed 280 characters
The limit of 280 characters allowed on Twitter could soon disappear in favor of longer content. According to an official announcement from the social network, a function for writing content and illustrated blog articles, named Notes, is being tested in 4 countries.
An alternative to Threads
The last time Twitter announced the extension of the size of a Tweet, it was to double the 140 characters authorized in 2017. Today, this standard fixed at 280 characters maximum is still far from satisfying the users, who have to resort to Threads (or sons) to publish more detailed posts.

Recently, the company looked for a way around this limitation with the testing of a Notes function. Notes is a long format content writing tool up to 2500 words. Once written, the Note is published and shared by tweet.
How it works ?
Notes is a full-fledged feature that incorporates many writing and editing options. It allows you to create blog posts, with settings for formatting and inserting images, GIFs and videos.
Notes are different from tweets. They are activated by joining the Messages option from the left side menu, which gives access to the Write button. another button To validate then allows you to retrieve the link to share it in your tweets or private messages. Other users will be able to retweet the Note by copying the URL link in the tweet editor. Twitter specifies that the Notes are editable, from a label located at the top of the page.
Twitter Notes is available for testing in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Ghana. The deployment program for the official version is not yet defined at this time. However, users can already expect the feature to provide a better, if not different, experience.
