Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum arrives in Algeria to participate in the Arab summit
UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum arrived in the Algerian capital on Tuesday to head the UAE delegation to the 31st Arab Summit.
The regular Arab summit in Algiers is scheduled to begin later Tuesday and conclude Wednesday.
During an official welcoming ceremony, Prime Minister of the Republic of Algeria, Ayman Abderrahmane, received Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum upon his arrival at Houari Boumediene International Airport.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is accompanied to the summit by a high-level official delegation that includes Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidency of the UAE, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Qarqawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs in the UAE, and Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy in the UAE.
The UAE delegation also includes Reem Bint Ibrahim Al Hashimi, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation, Khalifa Shaheen Al Murr, UAE Minister of State, Dr. Anwar Bin Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the UAE President, Khalifa Said Sulayman, President of the Ceremonies of the UAE Vice President, Yousef Sebaa Al Ali, UAE Ambassador to Algeria, and Maryam Khalifa Al Al Kaabi, UAE Permanent Representative to the Arab League.
The streets and squares of the Algerian capital, the roads leading to the conference hall and the headquarters of the official delegations, were adorned with flags of the Arab League member states, as well as murals of the logo of the 31st summit.
The summit comes at a time when the Arab region is witnessing many challenges, amidst the growth of global terrorism and the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
