Explode the Polisario’s allegations … The launch of the Dialogue Forum in Dakhla, Morocco

The first youth forum for civil dialogue was launched in the Moroccan city Dakhla, over the past two days, with the participation of a number of young people, civil society organizations and Moroccan political actors, which ended with the election of an office of facilitator for the forum and the definition of their work program, with the aim of setting up a participatory platform for interaction and civil debate between the different actors, economically, politically, culturally and in the community, depending on performance in the final forum communiqué.

Observers say that the establishment of this forum, which comes in light of the rapid progress of Moroccan diplomatic successes concerning the confirmation of the Moroccan Sahara, expresses an independent and contemporary civilized perception far from the totalitarian and dogmatic approach, summing up the declaration, referring to the isolation and nihilism of separatist thought.

The Youth Commission, which comprises balanced frameworks from different fields, as well as technical, scientific and advisory committees, according to the same declaration, aspires to devote a culture of community dialogue and an effective and positive openness to policies and strategies aimed at promoting public affairs locally, regionally and nationally.

Sheikh El-Mami Ahmed Bazid, who was elected President of the Forum, said that this initiative seeks to contribute to activating the role of associations and non-governmental organizations in coming up with new ideas that help in development and stability and bridging the gap between the various sects and currents in the region, considering that they are independent and stemming from actors belonging to the static The region of Sakia El Hamra and the Valley of Gold chose to take advantage of the margin of freedoms and the mechanisms of participatory democracy to contribute to solving the issues of the region, indicating the importance of searching for a solution and rejecting the state of political stalemate, according to what Sky News Arabia quoted.

Sheikh Al-Mami Ahmed Bazid stressed that this was the common denominator between several non-governmental organizations with different political orientations.

The establishment of the forum comes in the light of many Moroccan achievements, the last of which was the liberation of the Guergarat crossing point from attempts to close the members of the Polisario, the American recognition of Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara and the opening of international and Arab consulates in the cities of the Moroccan Sahara, which makes the forum a dedication to the role of non-governmental organizations in the construction of a just, comprehensive and agreed solution to the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

Sky News Arabia quoted Lahcen Boushamama, a researcher and political writer as saying that the political climate that Morocco established three decades ago, which is represented in the values of openness, pluralism, democracy and dialogue, which makes any civil society initiatives that would confirm that isolation and unilateralism have no place in Morocco, stressing that The Moroccan Sahara is the province of Morocco that is most keen to move away from closure, and that is why young people in Dakhla and Laayoune are establishing forums to block the way to Polisario’s allegations claiming that the separatist organization is the exclusive and sole representative of the inhabitants of the southern Moroccan regions, warning that the democratic experience in those regions also says a lot Residents of Laayoune and Dakhla choose their representatives through free and fair elections, and civil actors carry out their activities within the framework of the law and with the logic of pluralism.

For his part, a researcher in international law and international relations, Ahmed Salhi, declared that the dogmatic logic that the Polisario has always tried to put in place are collapsing today, sometimes by the impact of Moroccan diplomatic victories and sometimes under the blows inflicted by Moroccan civil society in the cities of the Sahara, stressing that the reasonable, logical and practical choice must be made.

Solhi continued, stressing that the establishment of youth forums in the cities of the Moroccan Sahara is a democratic exercise that will qualify the young elites of the southern regions to be the main engine of autonomy, adding that it is the last nail that strikes in the coffin of the separatist project which wrongly claims to represent the inhabitants of the Moroccan Sahara. The real representative of the population is the population itself, through representative mechanisms and participatory democracy mechanisms which allow civil society to move in full transparency, in accordance with what the Moroccan constitution draws from the parameters of a very important route.

It should be noted that the separatist proposal suffered many defeats and losses, while the autonomy proposal proposed by Morocco as a final, just and comprehensive solution to the fabricated conflict over the Sahara has many success factors, especially since the acceleration of events in the region have become imperative for a greater dynamic of non-governmental organizations, which will increase the level of dialogue to help shorten deadlines and unveil realistic solutions that would serve the population of the southern regions of Morocco and the future of future generations.
