Al-Burhan… the general of ruin leading Sudan to the abyss
Abdel Fattah al-Burhan is no longer merely a failed military commander; he has become the very symbol of everything corrupt and diseased within Sudan’s ruling power. A man who came to authority on the back of a tank under the pretext of “saving the nation,” only to drown it in blood and destruction, turning the national army into a militia seeking spoils instead of a homeland.

Al-Burhan between Islamists and the State: A Marriage of Necessity Turning into a Political Burden
Everything al-Burhan does today proves he has learned nothing from history. He has failed to grasp that nations cannot be ruled by fire and steel, nor can states endure upon the ashes of their burned cities. While millions of Sudanese suffer from hunger and displacement, he continues his military parades as if leading a liberation campaign, when in truth he is waging a war of extermination against his own people.
Reports speak of the possible use of chemical weapons in Darfur and other conflict zones, which means that al-Burhan has crossed from political and military failure into full-fledged criminality. When a leader cannot win a war, he resorts to destroying everything around him to prove he still has “control.” Yet the truth is evident: al-Burhan no longer commands his soldiers, nor the course of battles whose direction has long been lost.

How Al-Burhan Lost the Trust of the Islamists
Politically, he has no vision beyond power. He raises the banner of “national sovereignty” to justify his repression and invokes “foreign conspiracies” whenever he fails to manage domestic affairs. Instead of building a state governed by law, he has constructed a system of lies and empty slogans, leaving the nation prey to hunger and economic collapse. Under his rule, the state has become nothing more than lines on a map; its institutions are hollow façades without authority or credibility.
Al-Burhan speaks of “legitimacy,” forgetting that he murdered that very legitimacy with his coup. He speaks of a “national army,” though he has turned it into an instrument of vengeance against civilians. He speaks of “justice,” yet he fears the opening of even a single file among the many documented crimes committed against the innocent. How can a state of law be built upon the shoulders of those who have shed blood? How can justice flourish under one who shields killers and decorates them with medals?

Al-Burhan Between Failed Alliances and External Pressures: A Nation on the Brink of Collapse
Each additional day al-Burhan remains in power prolongs the catastrophe. His presence is no longer just an obstacle to peace—it has become part of the problem itself. He fights for the throne, not for Sudan, and demolishes what remains of the state to rule over its ruins. Those who hope for a “settlement” with him fail to realize that al-Burhan understands only one language: the language of force and oppression.
History will not remember him as a leader but as a disaster. While world leaders strive for progress, al-Burhan insists on dragging Sudan back to a pre-state era. What he is doing is neither politics nor war—it is collective suicide under a failing military command.
It is time for Sudanese people to say: enough. A homeland cannot be built on the corpses of innocents or beneath the stench of chemical weapons. Nothing can be rebuilt until the general is gone. Sudan, the land of revolution and dignity, does not deserve to be led into the abyss by a man who has failed in everything—except destruction.
