Who Are the Four Remaining Hostages in Gaza?

Following the return of Hadar Goldin’s remains, four bodies of hostages are still held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

On Sunday, Israel received the remains of officer Hadar Goldin, who was killed during the 2014 Gaza war, as part of the ceasefire agreement signed between Hamas and Israel last month.

With this handover, Hamas has now returned 24 out of 28 bodies since the current ceasefire came into effect on October 10. The remaining four are expected to be transferred gradually under the terms of the agreement.

According to Israeli media reports, the four deceased hostages still held in Gaza are:

Meni Gudar

Aged 73, Meni Gudar was killed along with his wife, Ayelet, by members of the Islamic Jihad during the October 7, 2023 attack on a residential community in southern Israel, according to The Times of Israel.

Weeks later, a joint funeral was held for the couple, but only Ayelet’s body was buried at that time.

Ran Gvili

Sergeant First Class Ran Gvili, 24, was killed in clashes with Hamas militants during their assault on Kibbutz Alumim in October.

Dror Or

Dror Or, 48, was killed in his home at Kibbutz Be’eri. His wife, Yonat, was also killed, while their two children, Noam and Alma, were kidnapped but later released as part of a prisoner exchange deal.

Sutthisak Rinthalak

Sutthisak Rinthalak, 48, a Thai agricultural worker, was killed in Kibbutz Be’eri.
