90 Minutes of Bombardment: United States Completes Its Latest Wave of Strikes Against Iran
The U.S. military announced the completion of its latest wave of strikes against Iran at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that the strikes targeted Iranian command centers, air defense sites, missile capabilities, drone batteries, and coastal surveillance facilities, with the objective of further reducing Iran’s ability to threaten commercial vessels and their civilian crews transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
CENTCOM added that U.S. forces employed precision-guided munitions to strike multiple locations across several areas, including Bandar Abbas.
The latest strikes came only hours after another operation conducted by U.S. forces on Wednesday morning, which targeted coastal defense positions and cruise missile sites on an island located in the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier the same day, CENTCOM had announced the launch of a second wave of strikes against Iran, emphasizing that the operations were directed at military capabilities used to threaten commercial shipping passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
These operations form part of an ongoing U.S. military campaign launched following the collapse of the ceasefire with Iran. The campaign has involved successive waves of strikes against military targets near the Strait of Hormuz and along Iran’s coastline.
The United States has also intensified its naval blockade on vessels sailing to or departing from Iranian ports and coastal areas.
During the past several hours, CENTCOM announced that U.S. forces had disabled an oil tanker bound for an Iranian port after it ignored repeated American warnings.
The command further stated that U.S. forces redirected two commercial vessels that complied with the blockade procedures, while disabling a third vessel after it refused to comply.
In the same context, U.S. President Donald Trump declared that military strikes against Iran would continue and would not cease until he personally decided otherwise.
He stated that Tehran had requested a meeting with Washington, while stressing that military operations would continue. He also warned that Iran’s energy infrastructure could become a target if Tehran failed to respond to U.S. demands.
Concluding its statement, CENTCOM emphasized that the U.S. military “holds Iran responsible,” noting that the strikes were conducted under the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and that American forces remain on the highest level of alert, fully prepared to continue their operations.
