Faten Hamama and Omar Sharif’s apartment for sale in Cairo auction
On October 27th, an auction will be held to sell a residential unit owned by the late artist Faten Hamama.
Located in the building « Libon » in the center of the Egyptian capital Cairo, overlooking the Nile and the fish park of El Gabalaya street in Zamalek, the building is one of the most famous residences in Cairo, inhabited by a large number of art stars, who have been gathered by the district for many years.
Farid El Atrache, Sherihane, Samia Gamal and Muharram Fouad were among those who owned residential units.
Faten Hamama, born on May 27, 1931 and who left the world on January 17, 2015, was awarded the title of Lady of the Arab Screen because of her great talent, her feature films in her films, and especially her work ‘’The Call of the Curlew’’, ‘’The Night of the Arrest of Fatima’’, ‘’the Chatelaine’’, ‘’Land of Dreams’’, ‘’Afwah wa Araneb’’.
At the beginning of her career, Faten Hamama married director Ezzel Dine Zulficar, and the separation happened because of his intense jealousy on her. She married Omar Sharif in 1947 after an interesting love story, life between them did not last long, and a divorce took place. For the third time, she sought warmth and family, married Dr. Mohammed Abdel Wahab, a radiologist, and lived with him until the moment she died.
