Arab Coalition intercepted an explosive drone launched by the Iran-backed Houthis towards the Abha Airport

The coalition’s spokesperson, Colonel Turki al-Maliki, stated on Saturday that the Arab Coalition successfully interrupted an explosive drone launched by the Iran-backed Houthis towards the Abha International Airport in Saudi Arabia. He also said that the coalition demolished the improvised explosive device (IED) that was in the direction of the airport.

The spokesperson added that the terrorist attacks launched by the Houthis are a systematic and deliberate attempt to target civilians.

Indeed, the recently tried attack comes after that a civilian plane caught fire on Wednesday when it was targeted by a Houthi drone. Just after the hitting of the airport, the Iran-backed group claimed responsibility for the attack.

On Wednesday, Yahya Sarie, the Houthi military spokesman stated in a tweet after the attack that the UAV air force targeted the airfields of warplanes at Abha International Airport, which is used for military purposes to target the Yemeni people, with four drones, added: The strike was accurate, thanks to God.

Otherwise, a US State Department spokesperson informed pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat on Thursday that Washington would continue to make pressure on the Iran-supported Houthi militia in an effort to cease the group’s heinous assaults in the region.
