After more than eight years of legal disputes, actor Brad Pitt, 61, and actress Angelina Jolie, 49, have reached a final settlement regarding their divorce. The story began in 2016 when Jolie filed for divorce, ending a 12-year relationship, including two years of official marriage.

According to Angelina Jolie‘s lawyer, James Simon, the divorce agreement was signed on December 30, 2024. He stated that Jolie had focused during this period on finding peace for her family, expressing relief at closing this chapter of her life.

The conflicts arose following a flight in September 2016, where Jolie accused Pitt of mistreating her and their children, though no legal charges were filed against him. The sharp disputes involved custody issues of their children: Maddox (23), Pax (21), Zahara (19), Shiloh (18), and twins Knox and Vivienne (16), along with a dispute over the ownership of Château Miraval, a French estate valued at $164 million.

In 2022, Brad Pitt filed a lawsuit against Angelina Jolie for selling her share of the project without his consent, while Jolie countersued, accusing him of seeking retaliatory control. During 2024, both parties made legal progress: a judge ordered Pitt to disclose documents supporting Jolie‘s claims, while Pitt obtained a ruling that might confirm an agreement regarding the sale of the shares.
